Joy in looking and comprehending is nature’s most beautiful gift. ~Albert Einstein
Every time I’m in the presence of a baby, I feel like I’m in the most peaceful, most beautiful place I can possibly be. I do truly believe that although just tiny little beings, they teach us to appreciate the smallest of moments. Spend some time with an infant, and all of a sudden you have nowhere to be but right there with them. Babies have this power- The power to be the cutest little zen masters on the planet. I was able to spend a portion of an afternoon with little Logan and his sweet mom Jordan a couple of weeks ago- And let me tell you, I left feeling perfectly calm and happy. While I was with Logan, I watched and photographed him sleep. I watched him and photographed him stretch. I watched him look around the room, perhaps watching the light dance on the wall. Logan got lots of cuddles while I was there, ( some from me, I’m not gonna lie! ) and I watched him stare at his gorgeous momma for a solid two minutes. I think he’s got a thing for her big time! Are you feeling a little more calm now too?
I mean, c’mon look how sweet.
I told Jordan I’ve never seen a baby with such amazing eye contact at only TWO weeks old! His stares melted me.
And let’s caption this next one. ” Oh mom, you are the absolute best, let’s hug for the rest of the day. ”
Okay, here’s the funny story behind this image below. I suggested trying to get the beloved Bulldog in on a shot with Logan. I set up the Ampersand pillow between pup and baby, in the hopes of capturing a Pinterest like dream of an image. Um, yeah, well, pup slobbered like crazy because he wanted a treat for this hard work I was making him do, and Logan wailed his head off, because he wanted to keep being held by his momma. Yeah, pictures don’t always go as planned, and that’s okay because we tried, and now we have a comedic gem.
I could have walked away with the rug on the floor of Logan’s room. Major orange polka dot envy over here!
So this is the little rocker that I would love to continue to photograph Logan on as he grows. He’s just a little guy now, but he’s going to be mighty.
To Jordan and Logan- Thank you for having me over to spend some time with you two, it was wonderful, I hope to see you again soon.
Good Morning, Happy Wednesday! Happy Autumn!
I’ve been so busy these past few weeks- been shooting lots of gorgeous weddings, my kids have gone back to school, and I’m preparing for a little getaway with my husband as we are about to celebrate fifteen years of marriage! This time of year I’m often so pulled in to the sights and sounds that the season offers. I love waking to the crisp cool air. I love the sound of the crows cawing from high up in the trees. The crickets at night put me to sleep instantly. My favorite sights are often just the colors- The deep indigo of the sky at sunset, the bright orange pumpkins at the local market, and brightly colored mums along doorsteps in my neighborhood. I seriously could get lost in the wondrous aromas- Freshly chopped firewood, an evening bonfire, or butternut squash with cinnamon roasting in the oven. The tastes? Well, Autumn wins, and will continue to win my tastebuds. Pumpkin flavors are my favorite, and let me just say this: Trader Joe’s has started selling Dark Chocolate Salted Pumpkin Caramel Truffles. They melt in your mouth, and are pure heaven. If you are a pumpkin fan, go get them! I hope that you are all enjoying Autumn just as much- in a few weeks the leaves are going to explode with color for the best three weeks of the year. Get your cameras ready!
I could go on and on, but I am here to share a lovely last day of August wedding with you. Rebecca and Gil were married at the Community Arts Center in Wallingford, PA. This location is one of my most favorite places to shoot. It just feels like a fairytale there, and that’s always okay with me. Any time I can step in to what feels like a childhood picture book, I am a happy girl. Rebecca and Gil had a lovely wedding, surrounded by their friends and family.
To Rebecca and Gil, many thanks. Your day was lovely, and I was so happy to have a part. Here are just a few favorites. I wish you lots of happiness and blessings as you begin your life together.
Good Afternoon, Happy Thursday! Today on the blog is a lovely wedding from a few back ago in August. Matt and Ashley had quite a rainy wedding day at the Sage Farmhouse in Media, but they did not let the rain bother them one bit. The ceremony was moved indoors, and all was good- The rain let up a bit for a few outdoor photos which was nice after the wedding. Matt and Ashley were surrounded by their closest friends, and their wonderfully supportive family. It was my absolute pleasure to document their day. Here are a few of my favorite moments.
To Matt and Ashley, thank you! I hope you enjoy the preview!
I adored this session up on the blog today! Meghan and Kyle are two of the nicest people you could ever meet, and I’m so happy to be shooting their wedding next summer! Meghan and Kyle live in Florida, but they grew up close by in New Jersey, and decided to get married here in PA, at Tyler Arboretum. I think it’s so cool that they decided to do their engagement session where their wedding is going to be. They can revisit some of their favorite places from the engagement session, or change it up and shoot in different locations- Tyler Arboretum is wonderfully big place. Many times during this shoot I felt like I had walked in to gorgeous storybook. The late summer August day was filled with ethereal, magical light, which lends itself, and the images to romance. The park itself is filled with forests, wooded trails, big open fields, and the occasional treehouse dotted along the paths.
Meg and Kyle are very beautiful souls inside and out. I had the chance to really get to know them during our shoot and pretty much fell in love with them. I asked them each what they loved about each other and here’s what they said : Meg said that she loves how easy going and understanding Kyle is, and how their personalities balance each other out. Kyle said that Meghan is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. As we walked through Tyler on this summer day, I would completely agree with their words.
Kyle and Meg, thank you for a gorgeous afternoon spent, and I cannot wait for your wedding! I hope you love your pictures! xo
On the blog today is a stunning wedding from a few weeks back on August the 15th, 2014. Elise and Chris had a gorgeous day at Holly Hedge Estate in New Hope, PA. Holly Hedge is so picturesque, I was in heaven all day long with the pretty spots to shoot. And while it was a perfectly gorgeous location, Elise and Chris, are what really made the day beautiful. Their love is so big, so apparent to anyone. They are a pleasure to photograph. My favorite moment of the day was when the bride, Elise, surprised her husband of two minutes with the arrival of their dog, Ruby, to the wedding. She coordinated with a friend to bring Ruby for some wedding photos. Talk about a wonderful, touching moment! Chris was so surprised, and totally thrilled. It was awesome. I’m so happy to have met Chris and Elise, they are truly wonderfully souled individuals. Below are some of my favorite moments from their lovely day.
Many thanks to Ralph Nardell who shot alongside me- I know he had just as much as fun as I did shooting this one!
To Chris and Elise- Thank you , thank you. You two are Bees Knee’s. xo
