This was a very busy summer for weddings for me, and what a beautiful summer it was. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again- I love so very much photographing couples on their wedding day- Each couple so unique in their love, and I adore having the honor to share their day. I’m so very thankful.
This blog post goes out to the new Mr. and Mrs. Egan, whom I had the pleasure of photographing on July 27th 2013. I was joined by the wildly talented Ralph Nardell, my good friend and someone I look up to so much. How lucky I am when he is by my side to help. Thank you dear Ralph.
Jason and Sarah had a gorgeous, sunny wedding day surrounded by all of their friends and family- They chose to have their ceremony at the Wallingford Presbyterian Church, and then their reception was at the Old Mill in Rose Valley, PA. Start to finish the day was a joy- There were so many unique touches- a beanbag toss at the reception, and a traditional Irish folk singer to name a few. I loved watching the day unfold. It was beautiful. Jason and Sarah shared a traditional Irish blessing at the wedding that went like this:
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
traditional gaelic blessing
Congratulations Jason and Sarah. Thank you for letting me share in your day.
May the sun shine warm upon the two of you always.
And now for all the pictures.
Fun. Happy. Joyous. Full of life. If I had to choose describing words for Pete and Meg these would be a good start. We met up at Longwood Gardens a few weeks ago for a really fun afternoon- We took lots of pictures of course, but we talked a lot too. Meg and Pete are getting married in October and I know for a fact their wedding will be ridiculous amounts of fun- They both just equally have such a zest about them- And to see them together, that zest just carries over in to their deep love for one another.
We met late in the day when the light was starting to get nice. Towards the end the light just exploded all kinds of amazing. Scroll and see.
Pete and Meg, I CANNOT WAIT FOR YOUR WEDDING!! See you in a few short weeks.
July was a busy month for weddings and I’m working hard to get all the previews out there- While July is super hot, and last month was no exception, we had lots of sunshine at each and every wedding- Summer weddings have a relaxed way about them as well. The brides and grooms, the guests, have all been awesome!! I think summer just has a way with our hearts and emotions- We live life to the fullest during these summer months. I’ve been blessed to share in some lovely moments, so full of life and heart.
Chamblin and Eric’s wedding was amazing. It took place on Saturday July 13th. The day before was all day rain and storms. so I was a tad nervous for them, knowing that the ceremony was going to be outside in a labyrinth garden. But all was well. It was hot and humid, but there was no rain! The wedding and reception all took place at The Delaware Museum of Art. What a pretty place to get married! The wedding was in an awesome Labyrinth, and the reception was inside in a lovely Gallery space. It had a very open feel .
Chamblin and Eric looked amazing as did their families and the bridal party. It was very heartwarming to photograph- Chamblin’s sons were a big part of their special day, and they were such dapper gentlemen. I also loved that Chamblin’s mom, and Eric’s Dad were the Matron of honor and Best Man. It was so sweet. My favorite moments of the day were when C and E did a first look. I’ve grown to love when couples decide to do this. My other favorite was when we did pictures in one of the painting galleries. It was so different, and I just loved the unique location for portraits.
Chamblin and Eric, thank you so much for letting me in on your wedding day. I was honored to share in your joy. xo
And on to the pictures.
A few weeks back, on one of the hottest nights of the summer, I met Mary and Leland for their engagement session. When I arrived to meet them, I went from my air conditioned house, to my air conditioned car, to Ridley Creek State Park. At first we thought, “Oh it’s not too bad. Less than five minutes in, and our sweat’s sweat was sweating. We were dripping. I’ve never left a session soaked…until that night. Despite all the heat and humidity, it was still a pretty night. We had gorgeous blue skies, and big beautiful glowy orange sunshine. And I love their pictures. Mary and Leland, thanks for braving the heat, looking forward to your April wedding next year!
I love little babies. In fact it’s safe to say I’m a baby addict. Sweet little babies are the best thing on the planet. From their sweet little newborn heads, to their sweet little toes, they are delicious. I love their little noises, their little cries. And I love holding them. Sigh. They are so precious. So naturally, when I have newborn sessions, it’s a little slice of heaven for me. It’s when I can get my baby fix- mine are big and mostly not babies at all anymore. And because I think I’m done having babies, this is when I can get it out of my system and move on. And then I’m good until my next newborn session …ha.
Baby Emilia was the sweetest little thing. I visited her and her family during the heatwave a few weeks back that nearly melted the Philadelphia area. Most of the shoot was inside except for a few family shots toward the end. This is one gorgeous family, prepare yourself for the loveliness.
Baby Emilia in all her baby Ugg glory.
Emilia’s big sister Scarlett, watched on the whole time we were taking pictures.
I think she loves her baby.
In between diaper changes and feeding for Emilia, Scarlett stole the show.
I just adored this moment as Scarlett played with her momma’s makeup at the vanity.
These next two images are my new favorites. Cannot decide whether I like color or black and white more. These two were just so beautiful together.
Baby Emilia in the baby doll bed. Love it.
What a hoot. Couldn’t resist.
Thank you Gordon family for the fun, and congratulations on your sweet little Emilia. Many blessings. xo
